SAA Releases Voucher Memo
By Wisconsin School Administrators Alliance staff | February 14, 2013
Today, the SAA released a memo on private school voucher expansion entitled, “Private School Voucher Expansion: The Wrong Choice for Wisconsin.” In the memo, the SAA makes four major points about private school voucher expansion and why it is the wrong choice for Wisconsin:
1) The ultimate objective of voucher advocates is a statewide system of private school vouchers for all Wisconsin school children.
2) Vouchers do not improve student achievement.
3) Vouchers eliminate public accountability.
4) Vouchers take resources away from public school students.
SAA members are encouraged to use this memo as the basis of letters to legislators, guest editorials, presentations, or any other way that it may be useful. We anticipate that Governor Walker will make private school voucher expansion a highlight of his 2013-15 state budget introduction on Wednesday, February 20th.
