AEF, WiRSA Release Video

The following link is a video that has been sponsored by the Association for Equity in Funding (AEF) and the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance (WiRSA) in response to the growing problems facing public education in Wisconsin.
The AEF has also funded a study done by the Wisconsin’s Forward Institute looking into the growing disparity in the funding of the three special populations of students that were specifically identified in the Vincent vs. Voight lawsuit. The study and the results of that study can be found on the AEF website at www.waef.net.

Public School Backers Step Up Advocacy Efforts

?Erin Richards writes in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:?
“Public school advocates across Wisconsin are ramping up their opposition to a slate of GOP-led K-12 fiscal and policy changes in the state budget proposal, as the clock winds down on budget activity this month.
But so far GOP leaders have signaled wiggle room only on a broad and contentious proposal to drop many teacher licensing requirements — not on any other controversial items inserted in the budget by Republican lawmakers in charge of the Legislature.”

SAA/WASB Letter on Teacher Licensure

The SAA and WASB have submitted to Republican legislative leadership a letter requesting that language in the Joint Finance Committee (JFC) K-12 education omnibus motion relating to educator licensure be removed from the state budget proposal.
