Assembly GOP to Hold School Funding Press Conference in Green Bay
By Wisconsin School Administrators Alliance staff | June 7, 2017
From WisPolitics.com …
Fresh off announcing their K-12 proposal, Assembly Republicans are hitting the road to promote it.
JFC Co-chair John Nygren, R-Marinette, and fellow committee member Mary Felzkowski, R-Irma, will be in Green Bay to tout the plan, which would put nearly $70 million less into K-12 than the guv’s $649 million plan.
But Assembly Republicans argued their plan would result in more money flowing into classrooms than Walker’s proposal because it would focus more on school aids than putting new money into the school levy credit, which is tied to property taxes, not paying for school expenses.
