Judge Blocks Publication of Collective Bargaining Law
By John Forester(Don't Use) | March 18, 2011
The latest from WisPolitics appears below:
Dane County Judge Maryann Sumi today granted a temporary restraining order blocking publication of the collective bargaining bill.
Sumi said she was given no evidence to show why the conference committee could not have given a 24-hour notice for its meeting last week or why a timely notice was not provided.
Sumi said some may ask how a bill can be stopped in its tracks by a “minor” issue like failure to properly notice a meeting.
“My response is it’s not minor; it’s not a minor detail,” she said, adding it is of utmost importance that nothing that happens in government occur in secret.
