GOP Senators Back Local Vote for Voucher Expansion
By Wisconsin School Administrators Alliance staff | January 18, 2013
As reported in the Wisconsin State Journal and other newspapers, Republican State Senators Luther Olsen and Mike Ellis have announced that they will oppose any expansion of private school vouchers in Wisconsin unless local voters get to vote on it in a binding referendum. This interesting development does not change the SAA’s immediate message to legislators at the time:
Don’t put any type of voucher expansion in the budget.
